Rockets at Timberwolves OddsShark Matchup Report

Houston Rockets Notes

With 52.9 seconds left on the clock on Monday against Dallas, James Harden hit a three-pointer to get to 31 points and to extend his streak of 30-point games to 30. The streak may not last much longer with Chris Paul back in action to help take some of the pressure off of Harden in the offensive court, but what an incredible streak it has been.

Harden did a wonderful job keeping the team afloat in Paul’s absence as Houston has gone from 11-14 SU and 9-16 ATS through its first 25 games to 22-9 SU and 17-13-1 ATS over its last 31.

The Rockets are 18-3 SU in their last 21 games against Minnesota and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 per the OddsShark NBA Database.

Minnesota Timberwolves Notes

Minnesota picked up a 130-120 win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday, mercifully ending a four-game losing streak in the process. But even with the win, the Timberwolves are just 2-5 SU and ATS at betting sites over their last seven games, falling below .500 to 26-30 SU and 28-28 ATS on the season.

The Timberwolves earned their first playoff berth in 14 seasons and had their first winning record in 13 seasons last year when they went 47-35 SU, but this season appears to be a step backwards barring a major turnaround down the stretch.

The Timberwolves enter Wednesday night’s game sitting in 12th place in the Western Conference and four games out of a playoff spot. If Minnesota hopes to defy the odds and make the playoffs this season, the wins need to start pouring in soon. Houston meanwhile is looking to pass Portland in the standings to secure home court in the first round with a top four spot.
