Wolverines at Buckeyes OddsShark Matchup Report

Michigan Wolverines

The Wolverines rank No. 1 in the nation in total defense allowing only 235 total yards per game and fourth in the country in points per game allowed at 13.5. But unlike in previous years when the team had to rely solely on its defense, the offense has held its own in 2018 as well producing 36.6 points per game.

Through eight Big Ten matchups, the Wolverines have matched Ohio State’s offensive production with an identical clip of 36.5 points per game while blowing the Buckeyes away on defense allowing only 12.8 points per game in those eight games to Ohio State’s 25.8 per game.

Since 2004, Michigan is 1-13 SU and 5-9 ATS in 14 games against Ohio State per the OddsShark College Football Database.

Ohio State Buckeyes

One week after an impressive 26-6 win over the Michigan State Spartans, the Buckeyes needed a fourth quarter comeback and overtime to defeat the Maryland Terrapins 52-51 as 14-point road favorites last Saturday.

With the win, Ohio State improved to 10-1 SU on the season but fell to 1-6 ATS over its last seven games. Ohio State is 12-0 SU and 5-7 ATS in its last 12 games at home.

Saturday’s total is set at 56.5 points. The OVER is 5-0 in the last five games between these two rivals.

All signs point to this being the year that Michigan finally overcomes the Buckeyes and starts pulling its weight in this historic rivalry again. With that said, Ohio State has held a clear edge over Michigan for over a decade now, and this final stop will be the Wolverines’ toughest test since a season-opening defeat to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
