Giants at Falcons OddsShark Matchup Report

Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons have averaged 31 points per game over their last four games but are only 1-3 SU and ATS over that stretch. Atlanta’s struggles have come in large part due to defensive futility as the team allowed an abysmal 37.5 points per game over that same stretch.

The team has been the victim of some bad luck with three of its four losses this season coming by six points or less, but with a defense this poor, some of that bad luck is warranted.

Since 2013, the Falcons have failed to enter their bye week with any momentum going 0-5 SU and 1-4 ATS in their last five games before their bye per the OddsShark NFL Database.

New York Giants

The Giants are struggling on both sides of the ball ranking 27th in the NFL in scoring offense with 19.5 points per game and 24th in scoring defense allowing 27 points per game. These dreadful stats have combined to give New York a 1-5 SU and 2-4 ATS start to the 2018 season.

Saquan Barkley is enjoying a strong rookie season with 811 combined yards and six total touchdowns, but the offense overall has been stagnant due to a poor offensive line and the declining play of Eli Manning. New York is 1-6 SU and ATS over its last seven night games.

Monday night’s total is set at 54 points. The UNDER is 10-1 in the last 11 games between the Falcons and the Giants.

Given the state of these two defenses, that trend towards the UNDER in this head-to-head series may be in jeopardy. There may still be hope for Atlanta to make a late playoff push if it can correct some of its defensive issues over the bye week, but that hope will only remain if the Falcons take care of business against the Giants on Monday night.
